Melissa Lajter

Melissa is the office manager and a paralegal at Zachar Law Office, and has been with our practice since 2018.  With more than twenty-five years in the profession, Melissa is among the most experienced Legal Assistants in the La Crosse legal community. She began her legal career at just 16 years old as a clerical assistant in the Winona County Recorder, working in that position until she graduated high school.  Melissa enrolled at the Winona County Technical College to study to be a legal assistant, graduating in 2000.  Since graduation, Melissa has worked with several law firms, and in nearly every field of practice, joining Zachar Law Office in 2018.  Melissa manages many of our cases and serves as part of our courtroom team in serious and high profile jury trials.  Outside of the office, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and son, gardening, antiquing, tending to her chickens, and many other hobbies.
